Throughout summer months, the park hosts a number of free public events such as beach bonfires, the annual urban island beach party, bird and plant hikes, children’s fishing clinics, family nights, art in the park and educational discussions. Check the calendar frequently for upcoming programs!
June 20 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Come on over to the west side of Lakeshore State Park for a bonfire on the beach. Stop by to sit down, relax, spend some time marveling at the views of downtown, Lake Michigan and our pebble beach. Make friends with new people, and visit with those you know. Staff will help you make your own pudgy pies and s’mores. Dress warm, it’s always cooler by the lake!
Usual park rules still apply: Dogs are welcome, but need to remain on a leash. No alcohol allowed in park.
Free Parking is available at the park’s south entrance road (access from Erie St.). It is about a 15 minute walk from the south entrance to the north, but on the way you can take in the lovely views of the prairies throughout the park! Paid parking is available at the north entrance at O’Donnell Park.
