Winter Free Fishing Weekend

Wisconsin DNR’s Winter Free Fishing Weekend runs January 20-21, 2018. For this weekend, a fishing license or trout license is not required to fish. Regular size and catch regulations apply. For more information about the weekend, see the following link: http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/
At Lakeshore State Park, staff will celebrate this weekend by visiting with fishermen from 10am-2pm throughout the park on Saturday, January 20th. We will have free Wildcard sets to help identify your catch, the most recent Choose Wisely eating guidelines, and some recipes for you to try.
If you fish here regularly, great!-Bring a friend who has never fished! Have a fishing pole at home you’ve never used?-Come try it out! If you never renewed your license for this year, take advantage of the weekend and catch some dinner!
Brown Trout, Chinook and Coho Salmon have been biting this week. The lagoon and shoreline area are also known to have resident Bluegill, Northern Pike, Rainbow Trout, Rock Bass, Small and Largemouth Bass, and Pumpkinseed populations.
