Lakeshore State Park’s prairies, open spaces and views of downtown and Lake Michigan provide an urban oasis in downtown Milwaukee. The Park, formerly known as Harbor Island, is the only urban state park in Wisconsin. The 22-acre site is located just south of Discovery World, bordering Lake Michigan and the Summerfest grounds. The Park includes a 1.7 mile paved trail that connects to the Hank Aaron and Oak Leaf state trails. Over 350,000 people visit the park annually for biking, hiking and running, fishing, boating, dog walking, and outdoor educational events. The Park is free to the public and open year-round.
