Scouts Service Project: Protecting Pollinators and Pollinator Gardens
Pollinators are a very important part of the forest ecosystem and need our help! Learn about pollinator species, native plants, and the remarkable relationship between them. Then, help us to tend to our pollinator flower garden with some late-season planting, weeding, and other maintenance!
This activity will start with a 20-30 minute introduction to pollinators, safety instructions, and descriptions of the goals for the day. Bring water, sun block, and appropriate gardening clothes! Work gloves will be provided. Important: gardening/ hand tools will be used for this event.
Meet at Kids’ Prairie, across from the Pebble Beach in the middle of the park. (Also counts towards Brownies’ Bugs badge and Juniors’ Flowers badge.)
