5/3/2026, 12pm-2pm. Slow Roll Bike Ride with Friends of Hank Aaron State Trail

Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the WDNR’s Hank Aaron State Trail with retired Trail Manager Melissa Cook. Hosted by the Friends of Hank Aaron State Trail, the 6th annual spring ride with Melissa is a family oriented casual 12-mile “out and back” ride with short portions on city streets and mostly off-road pavement on a flat course.

The ride will start with the grand opening of the new Lakefront Bike and Pedestrian Pocket Park serving as the eastern trail head for the Hank Aaron State Trail and at the major crossroads of Milwaukee County Parks Oak Leaf Trail. The route will travel through Lakeshore State Park, the Historic Third Ward, Walker’s point, the revitalized Menomonee River Valley, crossing the Menomonee River into Three Bridges Park, to the turn around at the Domes then reversing back to the Pocket Park with a loop around the Harley-Davidson Museum campus.  A brief presentation with refreshments will take place at Noon to start the ride. The spring ride is free and welcome to all!

We will meet as a group Just West Of Discovery World at N. Harbor Drive and E. Clybourn Street
500 N. Harbor Drive Milwaukee , WI

5/5/2026, 10am-12pm. Volunteer with Garden Club of Greater Milwaukee

A sure sign of spring is the return of the Garden Club of Greater Milwaukee to the park. Their “Prairie Pals” volunteers help make the prairies beautiful and healthy for wildlife and people to enjoy – and they make pulling weeds fun! Dress for Lake Michigan, bring gloves, and check here for updates early that morning if the weather looks iffy. Meet in the north end of the park just south of the marina and purple martin house.

5/10/2026, 8:30am-10:30am. Second Sunday Bird Walk with Milwaukee Birders
