Friday October 16: Strolling Lakeshore at Sunset, 5:30-6:30pm (South Entrance)

Fall is underway at Lakeshore, but there is still plenty of nature to see! Join Lakeshore’s Naturalist on a leisurely walk around the park as you let your senses engage in the sights, sounds and smells of Fall as the sun sets. Meet at the south entrance park sign. Coordinates for the meeting point are 43.029180, -87.895858. All ages and abilities are welcome!  

Saturday October 21: Halloween Beach Bonfire, 5:00-7:00pm (Pebble Beach) 

Don’t miss our last Beach Bonfire of the year! Join Lakeshore staff on Pebble Beach for a cozy fire, tasty s’mores and a good spooky time as the sun sets. Hang out for a while or just drop in for a quick snack. Festive costumes are welcome! 

Donations for s’mores are welcome but are not required and benefit the Friends of Lakeshore State Park.  All ages and abilities are welcome to join us! This event is weather dependent and won’t occur if rain is in the forecast. Meet at Pebble Beach. 

Wednesday October 31: Spiders and other ‘creepy crawlers,’ 10:00-11:00am (South Entrance) 

Looking for a fun and family friendly way to start your Halloween? Join our Naturalist on a hunter for spiders and other ‘creepy crawlers’. Learn about these amazing creatures and how they benefit our ecosystem. You may even discover they aren’t so scary after all! Meet at the south entrance park sign. Coordinates for the meeting point are 43.029180, -87.895858. All ages and abilities are welcome! 

Save the Date! Candlelight Hike – Saturday November 7th, 5-7pm

Spend some time outdoors and join park staff and the Friends of Lakeshore State Park on a fun and family friendly evening event!

Walk a 1. 5-mile accessible trail lit by candlelight and enjoy the park and downtown Milwaukee skyline in the dark. Warm up afterwards with a beach ‘bonfire’ and spend some time learning sea shanties! S’mores sales benefit Friends of Lakeshore. 

Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. The hike will operate in mild weather and may be canceled in the event of rain or cold weather advisories. South entrance coordinates: 43.029180, – 87.895858

All events start at the south entrance of Lakeshore State Park, unless otherwise indicated. Public parking on the south side of the park can be found by entering “Milwaukee Pierhead Lighthouse” into a GPS map program. Approximate coordinates to the starting location are 43.029163, -87.895880
