September 23: Open Paddle with Canoemobile, 5:00-7:00pm (Pebble Beach)

Wilderness Inquiry’s Canoemobile program will be joining us to host open (free) paddling! Participants will be with an experienced canoe captain and can expect to be out on the water for 20-30 minutes. This will be a first-come, first-served activity and will have a rotating fleet of canoes going out, so show up anytime! All ages and skill levels welcome, but participants must be able to physically enter and row a canoe. This event is weather dependent and won’t occur if rain is in the forecast. Meet at Pebble Beach.

Sunday October 4: Searching For Seeds, 3:00-4:00pm (South Entrance) 

Fall is harvest time at Lakeshore State Park! By October, most of our native prairie species have gone to seed. Join our Naturalist for a hike to find and collect the seeds from species such as golden alexander, prairie clovers, wild onion, milkweeds, goldenrods, coneflowers, yarrow and many more! Sunday, October 4th: Pedal for the Park, 10:30am

Join us for our 2nd Annual Pedal for the Park, Packers tailgate and bike ride.

Sunday October 11: Indigenous Plant Uses, 1:00-2:00pm (South Entrance) 

Did you know that some of the native prairie plants growing in the park are medicinal and that Wisconsin’s Indigenous peoples used these plants in a variety of ways? Join our Naturalist to learn more about these plants and their uses as we hike around the park. Meet at the south entrance park sign. Coordinates for the meeting point are 43.029180, -87.895858. All ages and abilities are welcome!  

Tuesday, October 13th: Broken Bat Bash, 4:30pm to 7:00pm

We’re raising a glass, raising awareness of the new Visitor and Education Center on Lakeshore State Park and hoping to raise some money too!

Friday October 16: Strolling Lakeshore at Sunset, 5:30-6:30pm (South Entrance)

Fall is underway at Lakeshore, but there is still plenty of nature to see! Join Lakeshore’s Naturalist on a leisurely walk around the park as you let your senses engage in the sights, sounds and smells of Fall as the sun sets. Meet at the south entrance park sign. Wednesday October 21: Halloween Beach Bonfire, 5:00-7:00pm (Pebble Beach) 

Don’t miss our last Beach Bonfire of the year! Join Lakeshore staff on Pebble Beach for a cozy fire, tasty s’mores and a good spooky time as the sun sets. Hang out for a while or just drop in for a quick snack. Festive costumes are welcome! 

Donations for s’mores are welcome but are not required and benefit the Friends of Lakeshore State Park.  All ages and abilities are welcome to join us! This event is weather dependent and won’t occur if rain is in the forecast. Meet at Pebble Beach. 

Wednesday October 31: Spiders and other ‘creepy crawlers,’ 10:00-11:00am (South Entrance) 

Looking for a fun and family friendly way to start your Halloween? Join our Naturalist on a hunter for spiders and other ‘creepy crawlers’. Learn about these amazing creatures and how they benefit our ecosystem. You may even discover they aren’t so scary after all! Meet at the south entrance park sign. Coordinates for the meeting point are 43.029180, -87.895858. All ages and abilities are welcome! 

Save the Date! Candlelight Hike – Saturday November 7th, 5-7pm
